
The Nozomi is the fastest Shinkansen service connecting Tokyo and Hakata.
It stops at the following major stations: Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shin-Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, Shin-Osaka, Shin-Kobe, Okayama, Hiroshima, and Hakata (Fukuoka). *Note: Some trains also stop at Himeji, Fukuyama, Tokuyama, and Shin-Yamaguchi.

The Nozomi operates on both the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines, stopping at major cities popular for both tourism and business.
Each station offers convenient transfers to local JR lines and subways, making it a practical starting point for regional travel.

Here is a summary of the travel times for each section of the Nozomi. Although it makes fewer stops than the Hikari, Kodama, and Sakura services, it offers the fastest travel times.

The fastest Nozomi service between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka takes approximately 2 hours and 21 minutes.
The Tokyo to Hakata route is the longest Nozomi journey, covering the entire line. It takes around 5 hours. Although it takes longer than flying, the Shinkansen runs frequently and offers the convenience of easy boarding without long wait times.
The Nozomi offers non-reserved seats, reserved seats, and Green Car (first-class) seats, allowing passengers to choose based on their needs. However, on certain sections or during peak travel periods (such as New Year holidays, Golden Week, and Obon), all seats may be designated as reserved.
