Furukawa, Kurikoma-Kogen, Ichinoseki, Mizusawa-Esashi, Kitakami, Shin-Hanamaki, Shizukuishi, Tazawako, and Kakunodate are served only by some trains.
At Ueno, the Komachi generally stops, but there are trains that pass through without stopping.
Komachi Travel Times

Here is a summary of the travel times for each section of the Komachi.
| Major Komachi Routes | Estimated Travel Time |
|---|---|
| Tokyo → Sendai | About 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Tokyo → Morioka | About 2 hours 10 minutes |
| Tokyo → Omagari | About 3 hours 30 minutes |
| Tokyo → Akita | About 3 hours 50 minutes |
Between Tokyo and Morioka, the Komachi is coupled with the Hayabusa and runs together. At Morioka, they separate, and the Komachi continues toward Akita.
Between Morioka and Akita, the train runs on conventional lines (the Tazawako Line and the Ōu Main Line), so the speed is reduced and the travel time is longer.
